Crocus - A Spring Delight!

Crocuses from the early spring garden of garden club member Mary Kausch, who writes:
Crocus - A Spring Delight!
Crocuses are one of the earliest flowers that push their blossoms out of the snow in spring. The blossoms sometimes appear before the leaves, which are short, sparse and look like a broad-leaf grass.
Crocuses come in many colors, including blue, violet, white, yellow and cream. Unfortunately, they are not suitable for cutting because of their short stem. However, they are one of the greatest delights of our yards as they pop through the snow to remind us that spring is here. They do not blossom long, but if you have a variety of species you can enjoy them for an extended period of time.
